Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP)

LWSHIP Logo (2)The Le Sueur-Waseca Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) creates wellness across Le Sueur County and Waseca County communities through community-driven, evidence-based, and equity-focused programs that tackle the root causes of chronic diseases. 

SHIP policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) work supports and advances sustainable changes. The PSE approach is a long-term approach to achieve equitable health outcomes in Le Sueur County and Waseca County.

SHIP is funded through the Minnesota Health Care Access Fund, which was established to increase access to health care, contain rapidly accelerating health care costs and improve the quality of health care services for Minnesotans.

The Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) supports community-driven solutions to eliminate obstacles for Le Sueur County and Waseca County residents for active-living, healthy eating, freedom from commercial tobacco hazards, and well-being. SHIP implements 11 statewide activities at the local level, through integrating evidence-based strategies and community knowledge to advance racial and geographic equity.

SHIP Advances Racial and Geographic Health Equity

SHIP focuses on communities with the lowest food access, the greatest barriers to physical activity, and the largest commercial tobacco use impact.

SHIP also supports the Le Sueur-Waseca Community Health Board to build capacity within the organization to change internal practices and processes.
