How to Apply

Le Sueur County Child Support provides an entry point for parents to apply for child support. 

Le Sueur County Child Support Services work to locate and establish paternity; establish and enforce court orders for basic child support, medical support and child care support; reviews and modifies court orders; works with other states to enforce all types of child support orders when one parent does not live in Minnesota.

Who is Eligible for Services?

All families needing help with establishment of paternity and/or collection of child support are eligible. Families who receive some types public assistance automatically receive these services. Support collected is used to offset the cost of public assistance provided. These services are also available to those who do not receive public assistance by completing an application for services.

If you are receiving public assistance (Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP); Medical Assistance (MA); and or Child Care Assistance), and the other parents does not live in your home your case will automatically be referred to our child support department. You will be required to complete the Referral to Support and Collections as well as the Client Statement of Good Cause Documents.
